Gerry Johnson

Biography: Gerry has served in pastoral ministry for 18 years, as Communications Director for the Overseas Missions Division of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, President of Vanguard College, and as Director of Mission of Mercy Canada. He is currently the Senior Associate Pastor at Mill Woods Assembly in Edmonton. Gerry enjoys Friday 'date night' with his wife Karen, home renovations and a refreshing Brown Cow (half milk and half root beer) on a hot summer day.

Education: Diploma in Theology, Vanguard College; Honors M.A. in Leadership and Management, Briercrest Seminary.

Gonam Raju

Biography: Gonam and Kannah Raju live in Barrhead, Alberta. Since 1964, Gonam has been worked in education as a teacher and administrator. He worked at the Alberta Distance Learning Center for over twenty years, and most recently as CEO Supervising Principal since 1997. He is now the Registrar for Vanguard College in Edmonton. He loves to travel and read. For Gonam, on a hot day, its water!

Arun Sarkar

Biography: Arun is from Calcutta, where he teaches at the Buntain Theological College. 

"Teaching Greek is my passion, though basically I am involved in administration. I have been teaching Greek in India and in Philippines for last 19 years. Besides teaching Greek/NT and Education subjects I also preach wherever the Lord opens the door."

Arun is married with one son and is involved in a number of ministries in India.   Currently, he serves as the President of Bible Society of India, Calcutta Auxiliary, and the Treasurer of Compassion East India.

Brad Noel

Biography: Brad is from Newfoundland, (on the eastern coast of Canada), where he has served in various pastoral roles in both youth and music ministry since 1993. Brad is currently the Chair of Pentecostal Studies at Tyndale University College and Seminary in Toronto.  On a day off in the winter, he loves to take the snowmobile for a long ride in the open country. On a hot summer day, Brad enjoys drinking ice water with lemon.

Tom Osterhus

Biography: Tom and his wife Ohokulani (Hoku) together with their son Timothy live on the beautiful island of Maui. Tom's ministry focus is primarily missions and dealing with apologetics and worldview issues. Ministry experience has mainly been leadership and teaching within short-term mission organizations. Tom's missionary outreaches include the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Fiji, Guam, Haiti, Mexico, Micronesia, Philippines, Saipan, Spain, and the Ukraine. On a hot day in Maui (which is everyday), Tom likes to refresh himself with ice cold Mountain Dew.

Dr. Ron Powell

Biography: Ron is a part of the teaching faculty and is the Program Head for the Youth Ministry Program at Vanguard College in Edmonton, Alberta. Ron's passion for the youth of today is evident in his speaking and in writing. He brings a wealth of practical and theoretical skill in the area of Youth issues and ministry to the emerging generation. Ron and his wife Anna have two delightful children and they are all enjoying living in Alberta.

On a hot summer day, Ron loves the refreshing taste of a good strong cup of coffee.

Sean Swaby

Biography: Sean is originally from Calgary, and has served in various pastoral roles since 1992 including: youth ministry, and associate pastor. Sean lives in Edmonton where he works as a family therapist for AADAC (Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission). He has seven years experience working with youth and families in various government agencies in Alberta and British Columbia. He is committed to helping his students learn more than good counseling techniques. His goal is to encourage solid faith combined with powerful counseling techniques that provide real skills to help people in need. On a hot day, Sean likes to drink an ice cold Coke.

Education: Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, City University, Bellevue WA, Certificate in Leadership Coaching (Candidate), Vancouver Community College, Bachelor of Theology, Northwest Bible College.


Anil Satralkar

Biography: Anil and his family live in Kolkata, India what is known as the 'City of Joy' where Mother Teresa worked and went to be in heaven. His wife, Asha, is the headmistress at the Assembly of God Church School providing education to the underprivileged children for the last seventeen years. They have two daughters, Ashnil and Anisha.

Anil grew up in the home of a rural pastor and has overcome tremendous poverty. For the past 20 years, he has taught in Bible Colleges and engaged in ministry in India, the USA and most recently in Canada.

"I love Cricket as majority Indians do, especially a one-day game and what is recently known as 20, twenty one-day game."

Dr. Scott Bullerwell

Biography: Scott was born in Montreal, in the lovely province of Quebec. Married with two grown children, he and his wife Brenda are blessed with two grandchildren to keep them feeling young. For twenty-two years Scott was Professor of Old Testament and former Chair of the Biblical and Theological studies department of Master’s College and Seminary in Ontario. On a hot and humid summer’s day a brain numbing cold Coke does just fine.

Carol Sirett

Biography: Carol has been a life-long career educator in both public and theological contexts. She is ordained with the PAOC and has actively served from youth in her local Pentecostal church. Carol has spent five years as a missionary in Kenya and one year in Poland. Currently living in Nanaimo, BC, Carol continues association with Master’s Seminary in Ontario, and IBOLT’s distance education departments. On a hot summer day, her favorite drink is still a cup of hot, black English Breakfast tea (none of this herbal or decaf. stuff).

Education: BA and B.Ed (U.of Manitoba); Theology-Central Pentecostal College; M.Ed (U.of Man.), and MAR- Master of Arts in Religion (Can. Theological Seminary).


Roger Graham

Biography: Roger came on staff with IBOLT in 2006.  As the 'new kid' on the team, Roger handles the day to day operations of the head office.  Roger is happy to assist you in registering for courses and answering any questions you have about IBOLT.  Roger was on the Faculty of Vanguard College for 6 years, and has also been involved in promotions and recruitment for the then, Northwest Bible College and Asia SPAN International.  Roger, his wife Jennifer and young son, Ayin live in Sherwood Park.  On a hot day, or really any day, Roger loves, 'The nickel drink that's worth a dime'.  See if you can figure out what beverage manufacturer used that slogan to find out his favorite beverage.

Burton Janes

Biography: Burton K. Janes lives in Newfoundland where he is the Managing Editor of Good Tidings, the official publication of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland & Labrador, & Archivist with the denomination. He and his wife, Sherry, live in Bay Roberts with their children, Krista & Christopher, & their border collie, Madisyn.

On a hot day, Burton enjoys an ice cold glass of water.

Nathan Hill

Biography: Nathan is originally from the east coast of Canada however he now resides in Ontario with his wife Mandy where he is the Student & Worship Pastor at a local PAOC assembly. Nathan has a passion for teaching and a desire to be involved in equipping future leaders for the various tasks that they will undertake. On a hot summer day Nathan enjoys a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade.

Jay Dyrland

Biography: Jay and his wife Kathy-Sue, along with their three children (Jacob, Katie, and Holly) live in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Jay looks forward to skiing with his family in the mountains, and his passions include teaching people towards a greater theological understanding of who/why/how we worship.

On a hot summer day Jay likes to make a pilgrimage to Starbucks for a nice cool Iced Mocha!
